  4. Hi, So I had my transfer case and both diffs double flushed, the total charge was $2515.73. Is this a normal amount for this procedure? Thank you!
  5. Hi hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have a jag xf 3.0d auto portfolio s on an 09 plate. It has developed a rattle when driving that speeds up and slows down as the car does and quietens on acceleration. Any ideas? I have had it looked at and nothing if fouling the prop shaft. I was advised to speak to a jag gearbox specialist and he said that he has never heard of an auto box rattling as described. It’s not the engine as far as I know as the rattle doesn’t happen in neutral. Any help would be appreciated thanks
  6. Hi Richard. These seem to be a possible... https://www.sandcmotors.co.uk/ Good luck John
  7. Hi there did someone find the location of the glow plug relay on a Jaguar xf 30.d 2017 (X260)? I looked everywhere and didn't find it .
  8. I have same problem after disconnecting battery when replacing cam belt. car starts but no central locking, does anyone know of anybody near southampton that can fix this, As Technical Bulletins sent to Landrover dealers tells them to replace both Central Junction Box & Auxiliary Junction Box before programming (ripoff)
  9. Good afternoon. Further to previous, this car HAS to go. It will be going to Remove My Car to be scrapped for £400 on Friday 27 September if no-one else wants it. Family are prepared to consider any similar offer from anyone who wants to save it. Please PM or call if you are interested. But do it soon. 🥲
  10. Hi Dave, yes the 17 character combination you have located is the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), and as Mike highlights above, the final 5 digits are the important ones for your quest as these 5 digits are in effect the "serial number". They are important in the search for correct spare parts as Jaguar (and other manufacturers) made update changes to the vehicles at a recorded VIN - i.e. before 45594, one version pf part number will apply and from XXXXX a new part number may apply to the same part due to minor changes. Hence the VIN helps you secure the correct parts. Hope this helps your understanding. N6 JMX

  12. On the stored codes question, I'm having the MOT done next week and will ask them to check this. Thanks, Charlie
  13. Thanks for this, Jim. Much obliged. I have bought a new battery and tried the reset but to no avail but I will try the fix mentioned in the last paragraph and see if that helps. I will post back to this site one way or another. Cheers, Charlie
  14. The last 5 numbers ie 45594 in your case. it is part of the VIN for Barratt and many other suppliers. You can find a definition of the VIN on the net. Check it out. M
  15. Thank you Mike for taking the time to comment. My local Jag garage probably consider this job small and unimportant - they always seem very very busy when I try to talk to them. They did buy the LH drive tank (wrong one) and seeeeeem (?) to behave as though they have done enough. On VIN numbers.... I have found SAJAD02E8YFL45594 which is described as the chasis number on a service bill. Is this the VIN number do you think ? It is also shown on the nearside door pillar and on the dashboard showing through the windscreen. If it is how do I use it to track down the right coolant tank. Thanks again for your time.

  17. lift the wheel up, rotate it by hand and have a listen. M
  18. Check the OEM number on it. From the Barratt catalogue, 3.0L I have for up to VIN M45254 RHD XR816503 and from VIN M45255 C2Z13764 But they don't quote LHD or RHD. However yours should be in the earlier group. There are no pics or diagrams to help. Hope this might be of some help. RHD breakers might be a bit thin on the ground, SA, AU,JP, and Cyprus. BTW have you tried Barratts? M
  19. My local jag garage ordered a tank from the Spanish breakers but unfortunately when it arrived it was for a Left Hand Drive car. I have looked around the internet and at first glance there appears to be quite a few coolant header tanks but they are all of slightly different designs. They all say S-type jag parts but when you dig down the details don't fit. My car is 1999 and the advertised tanks all start at 2005......
  20. Hi. I have an annoying problem with a clicking noise coming from the n/s wheel. It gets louder the faster the car goes. I've checked to see if there are any stones trapped in the tread or a nail/screw in the tyre. Any suggestions before I decide to get it booked into the garage would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Simon
  21. Hi Phil "Hi I recently bought a Ftype 3.0 v6 2020 but stop start won’t work I just have the logo pop up with a line through it." When you get that on the dashboard it means that Stop/Start is disabled. At each start-up the system should be re-activated unless you press the Eco button to disable it again, at which point the sign on the dash comes up to say it is disabled. As Jim said it is possible that, assuming you have not used a code reader to "tell the car" about the new battery that it has not yet realised 🙂 I know with the XF that every few months the car performs a battery test to confirm its status. Until the car does this it might simply be that it is not sure that the battery is able to complete a "start" so does not initiate a "stop". For me the Stop/Start light being on is important. If this comes on without you pressing the button there may well be a fault. You say you recently bought the car? If not a private sale I would be heading back to the dealer for them to sort it.... Regards John
  22. Hello Jim & Graham - many thanks for your comments about updated DVD discs for the XK, much appreciated. I have installed the latest updates on my TomTom and will use that on my trip to Spain - It's a bit sad I think that Jaguar have not seen fit to have updates available for their Navigation System, my car is only 11 years old for goodness sake.
  23. Hi Rich "when at lights or roundabout the car seems lumpy upon accelerating this is when i believe the stall is going to happen, I’m having to depress accelerator 3-4 times approximately 4 secs elapse before revs increase enough to pull away" That sounds much more fuel related. Starting point for me would be to change the fuel filter (quick and cheap) as these seem to be regularly "missed" when service is completed by major chains so will eventually clog up and impede fuel flow. Do keep us updated. Regards John
  24. Last year when my header tank went, I looked on EU Ebay sites , New ones for 100 E plus. Lithuania is often a good source. But found mine in a local breaker. M
