Hi all,

Nice to e-meet you all.  Just picked up an XKR here in Dubai and a quick question if anyone out there can help.

On my old XF SV8 if i was in sport mode, and using the paddle shifters i could flip back into Auto by pulling and holding the right shifter.  On the XKR this doenst seem to be the case  - is this by design?

Adam,

Welcome, the XKR is fab isn't it?.

My XKR goes back into auto when in sport mode by pulling back the right hand hand paddle shift for two seconds .

Does yours have "Dynamic mode"  ( the Aston Martin eater) this is fully controlled by the paddle shfits, and is great fun !

Peter, there is nothing easier than using the paddle shift , I was very wary at first, but they are fab

hi chaps.  not sure if mine has dynamic mode or not.  Its weird, in normal D mode i can drop in and out of the paddle shifters by holding the right hand shifter as you say for a couple of seconds.  When i go into S mode it stays fimrly in paddle only mode - the only way to get back into auto is to flip to D again and back.

So far very impressed.  The sound seemes a bit more gutteral, nice weight distribution as well.

Adam,

Dynamic mode should have a Chequered flag next to a button near the gear selector it if you have it , mine has an active exhaust which comes into play when in this mode, it sounds like Concorde , but a least the dog know when I'm home !

ah, no. the old XF V8 had that. ive got old school XKR - the only way to get trac mode appears to be the skidding car looking button at the top of the gear selector when in P mode.
