Hello,

I have removed everything engine , looms, steering column , fuel tank, ecus from a 2001 s type jag 3.0 v6 manual and placed them on the floor in my garage for a kit car project.

As soon as I put the key into the barrel and turn it , it comes up with steering column lock fault on the dash and will not let me start the car. I have removed the lock by drilling out the pins and tried to hole to sensor in to trick the ecu but no luck.

I have basically removed the hole inside of the jag and set it up on my garage floor, any ideas what has set off this code and how can I remove it. I wanted to keep the jaguar set up nice and standard to keep away from mapping ecus

Any info will be of help along with the clutch change topic I also started.

Only just joined and new to the car but you've done what I was tempted to do with a cheap v8 I saw recently :)

Just a though may help ? Is the steering column earthed?
