oh dear Keith, good luck with that. Is there a heat exchanger anywhere in the workings of an aircon? I would expect something along them lines in it.

Last week the aircon was blowing in air that was quite cool rather than quite cold.  This morning I had to go into Burton on Trent and the aircon was absolutely perfect, blowing in once cold air and keeping the interior at a perfect temperature as required.

I think it was punishing me last week for letting the fuel get under 50 mile range!

Not sure about a heat exchanger.

Had the car back in today and they can't find the leak!

So regased the ac and added some dye to hopefully show where the leak is then take it back in two weeks for them to have another look.

:-(

was under the car today checking the sills and noticed a leak of some green fluid from engine bay. Is this the elusive ac dye gas leak?

Yep sure is new pipe orderd by the garage hopefully fixed next week.

I had a 1999 s-type that sprung a air con leak, it was on the fatter pipe in the engine bay left side as you look in about mid way. There is a bolt head that touches the insulation there, it wore the insulation and into the aluminum pipe.

This looks like a week spot, I had mine dye tested the other day, and by your description that is exactly where mine was leaking. Keep you all posted.

   Hello Jaguar brothers,

I have a 2003 Jag S-type, I am leaking water as well ; I changed the water pump and them a leak started from the center of the car between the fire wall and the dash; I think that it's the heater core or evaporator but I'm not sure. I have started taking the dash apart today but decided to ask someone that knows the Jag. Please help.

Welcome to the Club, Calvin.

I am afraid I do not get oily hands any more, but there are quite a few members who know their way round the technical bits who will assist.

There is also a topic on good independent garages across the country recommended by Club Members.

Also I would advise that you google S Type Jaguar Dashboard removal  and  you will usually get a diagram on the HOW TO which seems a good place to go.

Peter.
