Quite funny actually Peter...I was tanking over the mountain on the TT Course yesterday afternoon (it really is a comically fast car) and, as I passed a couple of parked Mark IIs and an XK I got the biggest smiles and waves from their drivers (who were outside their cars having a smoke). They were visitors to the island (based on their UK plates) but that's never happened to me before, when I've owned lesser marques.
Made me feel quite special :)

I have been to the IOM quite a few times, Chris, but never taken my car.

I am originally from Lancashire and the Island is a favourite holiday destination before the advent of Package Holidays.  The first time I went was with my parents in 1938!

Regards,

Peter.

We've lived here since 1998 and would never consider moving back to the UK/Mainland/"Across" - it's a wonderful place to live.

Welcome Chris

I'm a newbie here myself but have had jags in the past and am glad to be back driving one again. I noticed when I had my first jag that I got waves from other Jag owners, We're all a happy bunch and why shouldn't we be.

Is it right that there is no speed limit on the IOM?

It's sort of right...
There are sections of road without speed limits, but they're becoming fewer and further between as the nanny state encroaches more into our daily lives.
