I'm looking to sell my father's XJS V12 5.2 coupe in British Racing Green metallic, which he owned from new. Only 41,000 miles. Sadly he passed away recently, although the car has been garaged under cloth for many years.

The MoT has expired long ago, and I know the AC doesn't function. It starts well, and appears to be in very good condition. I have no idea of value or what the demand is for these vehicles. Can someone advise please. Thank you.

Welcome to the Club, Steve.

I don't know the value for such a rare car  --- there cannot be many that old still around.

There are enthusiasts who will be interested, and there are some dealers who could well see your father's car as a money earner for them.  I will have a look around and get back to you.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi again, Brian.

I have had a very quick look around and see quite a wide divergence on prices.  The  cars I have seen advertised are usually runners with MOTs with prices ranging from £5000 to £35,000, although there are several with lowish mileages advertised around £8000.

The lowest mileage I have seen was 3700.

I hope this helps.

Man thanks, Peter.

I will look into getting an MoT done, and then possibly advertise from there.

I must admit I expected to see a 'classifieds' on this site but can't find one, or if there is one I can't find how to get to it.

Hi Steve,

There is a topic on which members can advertise, but no real classified ads  --  I don't think the club needs one, personally.

But you will find a lot of people who know a lot about cars and who love the Jaguar experience.

Peter.

P.S. Look in Jaguar Market Place where you will see Jaguars for Sale --  but these are members' cars, rather tan classified Ads.

My condolences on your fathers passing away.

The Jag sounds great and wish I had the money and space to take it off your hands,

My advice would be put it either on eBay Classic cars and sell it as a small restoration, or put it in classic car weekley paper for the same reason.

Good idea, Jonathan.
