Becoming 65 you will sometimes be accused of being a grumpy old git.  As from now you are entitled to be one.

Becoming 65 you are entitled to park your car across two spaces so that it doesn't get a dent from some youngster who can open as door properly.

Becoming 65 you are entitled to carry a walking stick and prod things with it.

Becoming 65 you may get a pension from the Government.

Becoming 80 you will get a 25p pay increase from the Government.

Becoming 85 you are still pondering how to spend it.

Best Wishes, and have a good day, Trevor,

\peter,

Thank you , don;t have anything to do with governments , still seething that Tony Blair got the Peace award from GQ magazine, what next, the McCann's getting the baby sitter of the year award ?

I have also been grumpy for years, and another benefits of being a pensioner is that I no longer get the carers allowance for looking after the wife.

But must grumble,

Happy Birthday Trevor, hope you have a great day. I've had a letter from the Benefits Agency advising me that due to the change in the law I cannot now retire until I've reached the grand old age of 67. Fortunately or more Unfortunately due to a serious industrial accident many years ago I have been deemed by the Medical Professors as being 45% disabled therefore, I believe I can retire a little earlier on medical grounds and my Mine workers pension which came out when I reached the age of 50.

Kenny,

I've just had a letter saying that my pension is going to be means tested, and I will still have to pay council tax at the full rate (as do all pensioners I think) . They have also stopped my carer's allowance for looking after the wife who is mentally ill , as you can't claim it, and receive a pension .

Fills my heart with pride when I walk round town and see the work shy getting a free living !

But at least I have a Jaaaag !

Know what you are say Trevor, I was starting my electrical engineering apprenticeship down the coal mines at 15 and seeing so many fat lazy cannot repeat the word hanging around the likes of Wetherspoons winds me up big time.

Stan,

If you've been married for 55 years you have every right to grumble !

Not been on a bus for 25 years, and a train for 30 , not that there are any down here in the sticks anyhow.

Peter didn't, but the boy Ken did, but he lives in Welsh land , and they use a different calendar .

Excuse me but I just followed on in the post, and we have a different alphabet but the calendar remains the same.
