Charlie,

The point of the internet is that you don't have to traipse around shops .

I don't go in for anything yank, so did not do Black Friday like the rest of the sheep .

Also, of course women nag, that's what they bred for . But if you think you have it tough, spare a thought for me young man, it's 'er indoors's birthday Christmas eve.

Charlie,

I never have to send anything back, as I get it right first time .

The internet is cheaper, can get stuff delivered the following day if you wish, and you haven't got to put up with other peeps in shops .

Charlie,

How can Mike talk what southerners eat when he himself lives up North ?

He even comes from a place with "North" in it's name.

Just jesting Mike .

Everything is relative Trevor!

Compared to Charlie Northamptonshire is well Sarf though innit ?

Anyway I was born south of the Thames which makes me officially a southerner and I'm only here in the Midlands on sabbatical (about 15 years now)

Cheers all

Mike,

Charlie was nearly foreign, and if the English had the vote he would have been, and wanted to be .

Well if you were born South of the Thames fair enough, which part ?, I'm from Guildford , although I was born oop north accidentally two months prematurely, but only lived there for 14 days .

Mike,

I was wondering that as well !

I've also lived in Monmouthshire , Weymouth, Johannesburg , Botswana, Tripoli ( Libya), Coventry, Alton in Hampshire, and Ilfracombe

Hi Trevor,

Well you win the exotic homes competition hands down! Botswana?? Crikey.

I think I've got you beaten on the most dismal destination though, The Falkland islands in May, think Wales in November............ with the power turned off and no convenient toll bridge back to civilisation!

Hi Frank,

You're right, just up the road in Higham, small world isn't it?

Hi Mike  If you see a light blue X Type flash you you will know who it is ...All the Best...

Mike,

I don't think you do have me beaten on the most dismal destination , I lived in Coventry for a year (actually ran away with the (now) wife) to there .

If there is anywhere worse, I certainly wouldn't want to live there, it is probably worse than where I was born .

Hang on a second!! You ran away TO Coventry???????????? Seriously Trevor? What on earth were you smoking?

Posted

Mike,

In all fairness,. it was in my irresponsible days. and I was smoking a lot of the stuff I shouldn't have .

I was quite happily divorced at the time. but the (now ) wife pestered, and we really did run away to Coventry !, it didn't show a lot of imagination I know, but one thing in Coventry's favour, it is not Birmingham !

Fair point Trevor, well made.

I have to say though, and I know you'll find this hard to believe, the Falklands are actually worse than Coventry or even Birmingham as with either of them you can actually just get in a car and go somewhere else.
