Hi Guys, Newbie here, My Father recently bought a 2010 XF 3.0D Premium Luxury on auction, the car had a minor ding to be honest and then obviously the over sensitive pop up hood deployed also.

Now we are in the process of repairing the car but we are having a strange problem with it.... The centre console seems to be dead, the knob does not rise, the start button does not pulsate the red light and none of the other lights on the cente piece works either. but strangely enough though, the park brake switch works and the start button works but like i said, no lights even. ive already checked F26 fuse in the engine bay (think thats the one for that whole thing) i also checked the plug and tried to scan it with my tool but it does not even communicate with the gear selector module, so can anybody tell me if there is a different fuse or relay to check on these cars? i mean i had to work in order to have a crash, i can see it breaking on its own while parked confused.png

All other instruments work, the only thing not working is the whole centre piece next to the cupholders.

If anybody can help i would appreciate it so much! thanks in advance icon_e_smile.gif

Hi Dominique, and welcome to the Club.

I don't know the XF layout, but I think you have diagnosed that it is an electrical problem.  I think it must be a faulty connection somewhere.  Also I would check that the battery is fully charged.

Maybe an XF owner will be able to shed some light on the matter.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Peter, thanks for the welcome, the battery is fully charged and the car starts with ease, i really hope its not faulty wiring haha doing some more research before i will resort to going through wiring i think haha lets hope for the best

I realise this is a very late thread resurrection, but I have an identical problem. Did you ever get to the bottom of the cause? Thanks
