She really is my pride and joy. I have wanted an S-Type since they first came out, but I never wanted a red one. My colour preference for a car is normally blue, but when I saw her on the forecourt I knew I had to have her, and I have been smiling ever since...

My favourite colour is blue, but when my wife saw a gleaming X Type 2.5 SR AWD in the same red as Ruby she just had to have it, and absolutely loved it, as did I.

But a pair of car jackers also liked it and drove off into the sunset.  It appears they are now doing 8 years in Her Majesty's local guest house.

But my wife told me to turn a disaster into an opportunity and an Indigo Blue S Type has been our possession for 18 months.

Welcome to the Club, Mike.

I wish mine was sitting there too.

Mine is not as shiny as usual, but she has only been to the Supermarket in the rain!

Regards and enjoy,

Peter.

I had a beautiful S-Type for 7 years until it developed a diferential fault. My dealer informed me that it was going to be very expensive to repair needing a new prop shaft, diff and drive shafts - almost as much as it was worth.

They offered me what I thought was a good trade-in price for a 2½  year old XF in the same colour - red, which I just love.

My wife and her cousin both previously said thay didn't like the look of an XF - "Doesn't look like a Jaguar" they said so I had stuck with the S-Type for all those years and would have kept it forever if it hadn't become BER.

I must say it was a great move, 2.2 diesel, road tax £145, 57 MPG and fantastic technology which is great for a tech freak like me!

What I am saying here is, that if the time comes for you to trade in your X or S-Type, embrace the XF, it is a fantastic car and I am so happy to have it.

A logical decision, Stephen.

I love my S Type and it will probably be my last car ---  if it stays working properly.

I am 80 now but fit and more or less well, although the moving parts need a squirt of WD40 now and then.

The XF is a very nice car and although I don't think it looks as good as the S Type, it has the look of a Jaguar ---  I think we all have to accept that styling has to change.

Regards,

Peter.

Welcome to the Club, Thomas.

The S type is a very nice car, and it is good to see so may members taking a lot of pride in a car which, in my opinion, ought to have a Mk IV model in the mind of the designers.

Hi Naim,

loving the rear dvd screens, were they in when you bought the motor or did you have them installed yourself?

Hi,

Thank you.

I brought them from eBay as soon as I brought the car. My brother knows his way around car electrics so was able to fit them in a couple of hours. I
