Lovely job on the wheels Martin, I need to do something similar to mine at some point. Plus I'm jealous of your exhausts but don't fancy spending c£500 on a set anytime soon. If you see another 2nd hand set do let me know, perhaps a PM is best or everyone will want them ;)

I'm planning a major valet on mine prior to attending the local Jag show, so I'll take some pictures for this topic after that :)

Thanks Russ. Stainless systems crop up on eBay from time to time. Got mine for £75 with no other bidders! Full cat-back system. Well worth the two hour drive each way to pick it up. Even sold my original exhaust for £80.

Im selling a spare set of 18" Indianapolis for refurb which are on eBay.

Some great looking Cars on here!

British racing green and silver's are very nice.

This is my first jag in lovely champagne  really luv the car but hate the colour.... maybe a vinyl wrap at some point... bigger wheels, exhaust and window tints maybe.

It's nice to hear other people don't find it so bad but I think it's a colour more suited to the mature gent also given the type of car it is rather than myself, 32 and a little rough around the edges.

Hope nobody takes offence as none intended.

Im also 32. Much prefer my s-type to the usual bmw's and Audi's. Like the colour of yours.

they really are good cars and have told myself that if anything catastrophic went on mine id simply get another tidy shell and transfer the parts over. Having been going banger racing some 25 years these are becoming quite a regular sight and have had many parts for this and my old scorpio from racers ive got to know.

Thanks Martin,

To be totally honest I have always fancied a jag and saw mine for sale close to my home for very cheap with fresh 12 months mot and bought it more on impulse as my wife and I already have a car each. Not sure if I should be saying this on here but.... I really only got it with a view of getting 12 months out of it.

Not the case now though, the Jag is fantastic and no longer view it as a 12 month disposable and will be looking after her well.

Hi Mark,

It is great for us oldies to see young men  [and women] achieving what we only dreamed of when we were your age,  I was 78 when I  got my first Jaguar and I still have no ambition to get anything else.

I was driving when there was no upper speed limit and know what it is like to cruise at 120mph on some of the quiet road we had, on my motor cycles.

I still have the urge to let the 2.7 diesel do its business, and the skills of speed still remain, although the brain says "lay off."

But then, I am only 81 and still feel young enough,

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Peter,

You should give in to temptation and challenge the stereotype of the senior driver!

I still hope to be exercising my right (road conditions permitting of course ;P) regardless of age.

Mark

Hi Mark,

Sometimes I let Morgana do the business on the A38, but only when the Speed Controller is not on the passenger seat!

Senior drivers are sometimes much maligned, but generally we are quite skilful, just rather relaxed at times.  I still do a bit of work ---  I am a Pension Trustee  --  which I find keeps the brain active, but I am not allowed to get up on the roof to do the painting any more!

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Phil

It's all about the challenge!

I did ask a Jag dealer for a quote to supply and fit, he said (apart from they don’t make them anymore) to get one made up £354 then labour on top! I looked around on the web and got an idea of what’s involved so I got the mesh and other bits from Adamesh, who I have to say were very helpful, the bloke (ben I think) actually called me to make sure I had ordered the right one, fortunately I had the photo of her sent it to him, and it turned out I had the wrong one! so he amended the order, and I got it the next day. I have been waiting for my hols (next week) to give it a go. if I do mess it up, I hope there will be enough time to get a new grill

I know it’s an expensive punt, but....

I hope to put some before / during / after photos on here shortly
