OK Tom, think I can assist you here;

http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator

If you enter your stock tyre size on the left hand side of the page and a variety of alternatives on the right hand side then press calculate it will give you the sums that would differ from the stock. You must remember that the sum should be kept to 3% of the stock tyre size.

You will need to play with the entries until you find the correct alternative for your car. I found by changing my wheels from 20" to 18" I eventually found the correct value tyre size to keep it within 0.02% of original value however, it did take a lot of playing around,, good luck.

Hi Ken33y

thanks for the info.i have now cancelled my original order for tyres, still not sure though is it worth putting 255/40/19 or am i best sticking to 245/40/19?

regards

Stick with original on front if anything you can stretch the rear wider. I find mytyres.com the cheapest and best for tyres and they include the fitting price where you chose a National tyres Depot close to your home

kenny,

is there any real advantage to be gained by putting 255 as opposed to 245 on the rear? i need to replace the rears and if it there was a real improvement in handling and grip i would replace the 245 with 255.

cheers
