Recently bought x Type 2.1 53/2003 manual    High miler(149k) but good cheap intro to this model   Previously owned Omega 3.0s but fuel costs restrictive!   So far only replaced rear caliper(common fault) and Oil change   Good on fuel,30mpg mixed urban,upto about 40mpg on a run with cruise on   So far so good   Regards,Rew

you may track your fual costs on fuelly.com or other apps probobly too. This is what I am using.
