Hi Joe, and Welcome to the club.

The Club is for owners of all Jaguar cars and there are members who own that latest models, and those who own E Types and Mk2 as well.

The club is a relatively young one, and there have been several days out and there will be more, I hope, but the winter seems to be the time for an element of hibernation.

Regards,

Peter.

hi peter thanks for the reply the threads ive found are mostly from the older x type and s types owners looking for advice regarding their cars suppose the newer xf &xj ftype guys arnt looking for that I usually change cars every 3years as I have said before this is my first jaguar and I like the performance &styling of it my next car could well be the f type or the new s class coupe prob get the s-coupe better interior before I hit the 50 mark (promised myself sports car for 50th) the ftype is lacking a bit behind in plushness of the cabin wise having had a test drive in one compared to the merc. but I do like the cabin of the xj, but 3years will tell

Hi Joe,

Many members do come to the Club to ask for advice concerning older cars, and I certainly welcome that.  At the same time, there is great value in members with more modern Jaguars to be here to give the younger members an insight into the latest Jaguars and giving other some aspirations for the future.

I had my tastes for speed on fast motorbikes in the days before the 70 mph limit, and then with a company car for 29 years I found more need for comfort than speed.

I fell in love with the Mk1 Jaguar which my friend was restoring in 1964 and the S Type, which is really the Mk3 was my ideal car, and being a pensioner cost is also an issue.

I hope to arrange a Midlands Meet this year if I can get enough people interested.  Watch this space!

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Joe, having purchased my XKR late Autumn last year I cannot have expected to attend club meetings due to the winter months. I will look forward and hope the will be meetings this coming summer. I have owned Mercedes prior to the Jaguar to include the SL500, SL55, SLK32 which of course are AMG models and still have a CLK270 Cdi which I use for work.

With all due respect I do tend to disagree with you somewhat with regard to the Jaguar F Type, my brother bought the 3.0 ltr version a couple of months ago sand having driven it myself I found it to be fabulous and if was not the hard top version I would be well envious.

Hoping to meet up Joe even though we have hell of a gap between us.

dad has a s-class ken his 3rd prob his last as hes 76 great car, had heard that the xj has probs with the sunroof rattles&vibration  ive been listing out for it have heard small vibration once or twice but unsure as was in heavy traffic, also the portfolio has 2 filters under the front seats heating&cooling and at service time they have to be replaced .don't know how much yet as car was serviced not long before I bought it. but have been told by mate his father has one that its several hundred pounds. no point of asking dealers as I have the car now and its just a job that will have to be done. at service time
