Windscreen washers

My S type has the later screenwashers which are attached to the wiper arms.

 

When I press the screen washer button the wipers sweep three times but I only get a tiny little jet of screenwash for about half a second.

 

Can anybody tell me if that's right please or should the screen wash spray out all the time I'm holding the button in?

As mine do Paul, although the first set of wipers were brilliant, and the current set is not as good.  I just keep pressing the button until the screen is clean.

But do you get screenwash fluid all the time you are pressing the button Peter?

Yes, Paul, but I got more with the first set.  This last set of wipers is not as good.

I'm getting next to nothing so clearly a blockage somewhere as the pump runs as it should.
