Hi, Nick,

Front or rear?

The rear bulbs are very simple.  Just detach the boot lining at the offending side, carefully lift out  the lights panel, and replace the Bulb.

The front I know nothing about as the 2007 model does not have them fitted as standard and are not on my car.

Regards,

Peter.

That's a thought, Nick.

There is a small independent accessory shop near me who will do things like that - very useful.

I'm in the middle of changing my font offside fog lamp. I noticed that it wasn't working after buying the car. If you get at eye level with the lamps, you will see 3 plastic clips along the front off the grill. Remove these by turning them a quarter of a turn to the left. You could use pliers, but I just used my hand. Next, remove the small trim from the side of the lamp, which just pulls off from the right (for the offside lamp) then there are 2 allen bolts which are about 4 mm to remove. That is it, apart from disconnecting the wiring, which is straightforward.

Yes, that's the one. Mine's the offside one though. No more than 20 minutes work to remove the lamp, then you can mess with it in your house.

Thanks Andy.

I followed your instructions and took the lamp out successfully. Unfortunately the idiots in the car spares shop gave me the 5v Bulb instead of the correct 12v one, so I couldn't finish the job today. It'll have to wait until tomorrow now.

Many thanks to Andy Pandy.

I was a bit reluctant to do this job until I'd seen Andy's post. Removed the fog lights this afternoon, quite a lot of abrasion to the glass but some 2500 grit wet and dry and three coats of clear coat made them look much better. On my 2001 S-type the lamp units are each held on by 2 "Torx" size 30 screws. There is a wire clip securing the electrical connector which needs to be removed. The rest is exactly as explained by Andy Pandy.
