I thought this might be interesting.

Wednesday was nice and warm and a stroll round Foxton Locks was quite enjoyable.  The bonus was seeing this rather nice car,post-4237-0-09115600-1429272966_thumb.jp

that's one tasty bit of kit, we should have some club business cards printed so when we pass a jaguar we could place on they car asking them to join the club a lot of clubs are doing this to gain more members

Excellent idea Ron, I agree fully there are to many missing out on not being members of such a good club that may be invaluable in the supply of information and likewise, we as members could be missing out on their support and knowledge especially if they have such old classics such as what as been spotted on a simple stroll.

all we need is a template / design  as such and vista print or a printing company do some good deals i dont know if the club has the funds for this sort of thing or not maybe someone could have a word with admin ( peter / ken HINT HINT ) i always kept some in the car when i was out and about with my old club we always see them in car-parks etc i think vista print are doing 500 cards for a £5 at the moment all we would have to do is upload a template on there website

Ron, behave he he. I would like to see the Jaguar emblem as within my signature as a faded background on a business type card behind any printed detailing. As for Administration and funding then I can only point the matter away from me on that score.

That's great, Ron.

I am willing to spend a shiling [poetic] to get something off the ground.

I will check with Steve Barnes [Admin] and I don't think Steve will have any objections to the initiative.

There are loads of Jaguars round here, as well as Professional Footballers who like the F type coupe.

They live at the other side of the road!

Peter.

Peter, Professional Footballers in your neck of the woods? I played professional myself back in the 70's even gained a Welsh Cap and was managed by the greatest football player that Wales has ever produced however, the money I was being paid back then would not have bought you a clapped out Escort.

Hi Kenny,

There is a large private estate across the road which is infested by many professional Aston Villa, Birmingham City and WBA players, Gareth Southgate, being one when he played for Aston Villa and quite a few others, who I see regularly in their Ferraris and Lamborginis, and a couple of F Types.

I believe they do get quite a lot of money!

I did play a certain amateur game in the fifties and got paid expenses which provided very good beer money!

Regards,

Peter.

I only managed to get in the Hereford United team albeit 4th,3rd,2nd and 1st Divisions. Never made it to the top but can display my Countries Cap Proudly. I was on more money from my apprenticeship £54 per week NCB in mid 70's than I was getting per game for Utd £25
