Hi all,

I have the installation instructions for the ACM on an S Type but they provide no information on operation.

I am aware that the ACM allows an iPod to be operated as if it were the CDC. Does this mean that the CDC becomes redundant please?

Yes I have Andy :)

Also, just reading the ACM user guide - you can still use the CDC. There is a switch in the centre console ACM module which allows you to select either ACM or CDC :)

Happy Bunny now - even though the ACM costs silly money. I NEED my iPod ;)

Not sure if the work for ipods but have you considered a fm transmitter? I use one in my van so I can listen to my music from my phone. Lead plugs into the headphone jack then into the power piont in vehicle and transmits at a frequency you can tune into on the radio. Not ideal as you cant skip song from wheel but they do only cost a tenner.

Wow.

I've gone down the tenner bluetooth dongle route.

Connect phone to it, put music file on shuffle and rock 'n roll baby!!

No need to change track up or down cos if it's on my phone it's good enough for me

Well, the ACM arrived today and I just idly considered how I would approach the task of fitting it and, mirabile dictu, it was fitted and working, in less than 40 minutes. Such a simple and logical installation you can't go wrong :)

Well worth the effort, and, dare I say it, the money. CDs just don't have enough playing time for things like Wagner operas or audiobooks :) Welcome back old iPod friend.

Pleased to say that the kit was the latest version as well, containing the upgraded D2B cable, updated iPod cable and the module itself has the latest firmware meaning the whole system is more "iPod friendly"

I don't know, I tend to just fill up the CDC with Wagner CDs, works for most things apart from the Ring....

After a couple of days in use, I have to reluctantly admit that the ACM is a must for me :)

Terrific sound quality and no ugly audio gaps while CDs change over.

The whole of the Ring cycle, to use the example quoted above, on one playlist :) ... and I tend to favour several different recordings of the Ring, Furtwangler and Solti being amongst them.

Audiobooks which flow naturally - great, and I can swap between iPod and USB if I want to and no horrible buzzy RF links.

Plus it all works seamlessly with the Navigation, Jaguar Voice, phone etc :)

Maybe it should have been part of the standard audio fit by 2006 though.

Gah... hrm... was it an option in 2003? I don't want to retrofit anything that wasn't available when mine was built....

Indeed, which it does, so I know I can fit one, but my question is whether or not it was an available option in 2003 :)

Awesome :) I can feel happy fitting one...

Not Awesome... another expensive item on to the wish list...

*sigh*
