Help Rough running X- Type diesel 2.0 2004 estate

I just bought 2004 X- type diesel estate 48000 mi. It started running rough when accelerating   then got worse with loss of power light smoke. I checked inter cooler hose & it looked OK.

Any ideas what it might be???

Hi Joe, and welcome to the club.

 

I am do not get my hands dirty anymore, but there are a few members who are quite expert with the X Type.

 

I had my 2.7Diesel Terracleaned and it did the car very well.

Found the problem loose turbo hose underneath fixed with new C clamp
