There will be space for others if you make a late decision :)

All of the information about the museum can be gleaned from their web-site which has a link in the first post of this thread.

Peter and I propose to be at the venue for 10:00 am and we are able to stay, if we wish, until 5:00 pm.

The signage and reserved parking will be in place from 10:00 am.

When you arrive and go to the pay point, please tell the person at the desk that you are a member of the JoC and be prepared to quote this reference:-  2176155, to enable you to claim the JoC discount price.

I imagine a fair bit of the time will be spent ogling each other's cars but don't forget that there is a whole magnificent motoring museum to be seen as well.

We propose a gathering of the clan at 12:00. This is intended to be outdoors with our cars but, in the event of actual or impending inclement weather, we will have made alternative arrangements. This will be decided by Peter and I before you arrive and we'll let you know when you see us.

Peter has produced a program per car and these will be handed to you upon arrival as well. Your program will have a reference number on the cover. This will be of importance at the gathering because it will be your free entry into a raffle. The prizes (gizits) are not yet finalised and acknowledgement is given to those who have sponsored the meet.

I will be bringing my Mongoose kit along in the hope of getting a little bit of hands on experience between myself and miken (Thomas). Anybody else is welcome to observe and, if you have any experience, to advise :D .

Other than the gathering at 12:00 we have no formal arrangements planned as this is our first attempt at bringing members in this area together for a social event. What Peter and I do hope though, is that it will be a memorable event and the catalyst for others to try their hand at arranging similar. PLEASE, feel free to ask questions and offer advice.

There is an eating place on the site which is perfectly acceptable but you might want to consider the possibility of a picnic.

We would ask, please, that there is no mechanical work carried out on the cars. The reason for mentioning that is experience. I once attended a similar meeting for the Rover 75 / MGZT club at Chasewater and the management were distinctly unimpressed when several cars appeared to discard various parts of their structure including bumpers, brake disks etc.

As an aside, if that sort of hands-on, work on cars with like minded souls appeals, I can probably arrange something of the sort along the lines of the Rover 75 MGZT Nano-meets. If anybody is interested I'll happily tell them what sort of thing goes on at such a meet. Not for this meet though... please

Peter will be adding a further information post to this thread sometime just before the event to finalise any details.

In the meantime, I'm really looking forward to putting faces to names :D  To that end, it might be nice if you'd print out a sheet to be placed on the dashboard of your car giving details of who you are (forum username and real name maybe?) plus any other information you might think would be useful. For example details of the car, any modifications possibly? Anyway, that's a suggestion and is entirely up to you. Above all else, have a great time so that we want to do the same again :D

Morning Peter.

Can't give a definate yey or ney to this meet now.

The replacement clutch is slipping under fair acceleration.

I'm going to run it local first to see if it changes for better or worse.

Knowing my luck it will be worse.

I'll keep you posted.

Posted........ Get it... Chuckle

Good morning, Dave.

Good luck with the clutch, but I agree that coming down here with a dodgy clutch is not an option.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Everyone,

Remember this number as it will entitle you to the JOC discount:

2176155.

The final details for the meet are as follows:

The list of attendees is in the previous post, and it is important to let either Paul of myself know if you are coming but not on the list. We have reserved parking and we will have to inform the museum if there are more coming than listed.

It is also quite important that I know the number of cars attending, as I have prepared a small and rather amateurish booklet for each of the members attending.  This booklet will have a number on the back page.

We have got some sponsorship for the meet from Opie Oils and the David Manners Group, plus some other small items.  There will be numbers drawn out of the metaphorical hat and if the number on the back of your booklet coincides with the number drawn out, you will win something.

Paul and I will be in the Car Park from 10.00 am on the 19th, and we each have a card on the dashboard indicating who we are, and it would not be a bad idea if everyone attending could do similar on  an A4 sheet  ---  marker pen would be OK.

There are some roadworks around exit 12 of the M40 and Sat Navs might not be that useful for the last half mile. The Museum is well signposted, however.

In the event of the weather being inclement, Paul has arranged somewhere where we can meet around 12.30 pm.

Paul and I are looking forward to the Meet and the opportunity to get to know you all.

Regards,

Peter.

since  i only have 1 vote for the f-type from Paul and 2 votes for the XE from myself and Peter it will be the XE that i will bring along on saturday. I have to give the company fair warning for this and have done so now so it cannot be changed. I look forward to seeing you all there.

I am looking forward to seeing the XE close up, Phil,

I have seen the F Type   ---  a lady who lives not far away has one and parked it next to my S Type   ---  she admired my car!!

Dear All,

I may be unable to bring my XKR as it failed MOT yesterday. Most issues dealt with already, but my garage need to sort the airbag fault - not easy!

I will come along but maybe in a VW    - here's a photo to be going on with ...

Well, I had planned to have The Princess in the bodyshop this week so she was at her best for the meet, but the sprayer has gone and injured himself. Damned irresponsible I call it

Ah well. I'll have her under cover on Friday for a good clean and polish.

Please ignore the stone chips on Saturday, she is now due in the bodyshop next Thursday :D

Looking forward to meeting everybody and ogling some beautiful Jaguars.

Hi Paul,

The only advantage of a car not fitting into the garage is that you get it washed free.

Certain things arrived today!

Hi Paul,

We are well set for the First Annual Meet of the JOC West Midlands then!

And the weather will be fine.

Unfortunately, owing to a sudden and shocking family crisis, I will not be there tomorrow. I was really looking forward to it as well.

Peter will still be at the helm though so I hope you all have a brilliant day.

Maybe the first of many meets.

I HATE missing out on a raffle as well
