Welcome to the Club, Jimmy.

Paul will put you on the list.

The x type is rather good car,   ---  I used to have one till some scroats "borrowed" it ---  carjacked.

I hope you enjoy the club  ---  there is a lot of expertise if you have a problem.

Regards,

Peter.

Great numbers, it will nice to see that many Jags in one area, lets push for forty, thats one hell of a turn out for any club,.theres lots of members looking forward to it.it makes you think what other club events could be made for the future with that interest, see you all soon.

Curiously, Paul, I tried to organise a meet at the same venue last year and only got 5 people interested.

There have been a lot of new members in the last 6 months, and quite a few from the Midlands.

The venue will be able to accommodate us from 10:00. That is to say, they will have the car parking and signage in place for 10:00 :)

Just had a very pleasant and productive meeting with Peter :)

It looks as though this is going to be a really worthwhile event.

I'll put up a post about two weeks prior to the event with final information and in the meantime Peter will have one or two points of guidance to make.

Looking forward to putting faces to names :)

Hi All,

Things are moving quite quickly in spite of the meet still a month away.

I visited the Museum a couple of weeks ago and had a thoroughly enjoyed the day.

However, there is a lot of road works going on around the Museum due to JLR developing their Gaydon facility.  Those using the M40 should disregard their Sat Nav instructions after coming off the M40 at Exit12, where the road works on the slip road swill be finished by the 19th.

The Museum is well signed and there should be no problems getting there.

There seem to be adequate picnic tables and if the weather is good, it will be ideal for a picnic lunch.  There is a small cafe serving a small range of hot meals, and drinks.

We have some sponsorship for the event  ----   more on this later.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Regards,

Peter.

I would love to come assuming I have a car that works and money in the bank;)

I've only done 2 meets and they were vw but both were great days out.

So that's 1 grandad blue X diesel estate with 1 maybe 2 guests.

I have been offered a couple of cars from work to bring along for people to have a look around if anyone would be interested.  I have the option of an F-type 3.0 V6 charger or a new XE S 3.0 V6 charger. I am thinking the XE would probably be more attractive for members as it is more of a realistic buy for most people plus my wife is coming with me and she has a couple of health problems which would mean an F-type would be a very difficult ride for her. I am planning on bringing the XE but if  i get a majority of calls for an F-type on here then i can always swap to that instead. Let me know what you might be interested in looking at/sitting in etc.

Brilliant, Phillip.

I think the XE is the better option for people to look at, assume of us pensioners have to be a bit realistic.

Of course SWMBO may change my mind if we win the lottery!

Regards,

Peter.

PS.  A photo of each member who wishes could easily be done, too.

SWMBO???????

She Who Must Be Obeyed

Comes from the Rumpole books written by John Mortimer. This is what he calls his somewhat draconian wife.
