I Have a 2007 S Type the navigation player displays the message "DISC INSERTED IS NOT A MAPS DVD" I Have purchased a 2011-2012  dvd fro  HERE MAPS formeley NAVTEQ  i am still getting the same message i contacted the  DVD Supplier and am still waiting one week later for a solution i am assuming that the problem is in the DVD Player itself not the DVD Disc. my Question is have any of you encountered the same Problem and if so what is the answer to get it sorted. i imagine that the Jaguar dealer would make a big issue out of this. i am in Portugal and Jaguar Dealership's are not very common.

Thank You.

Hi, I have had this problem when buying an unofficial disc. I decided to try again by ejecting the disc and re-inserting it (before complaining to the supplier) and the same message appeared but this time only for a moment after which a different message came up saying "loading". So for me it was a case of persisting.

Hi Eric, and welcome to the club.

I think Dennis might have hit the nail on the head.

A Jaguar dealer would probably take the disc off you, clean it and then put it back in and charge you £140.

Regards,

Peter.

I've just bought a copy disc off the net and it's working fine.

Phil58 had the same problem even with my genuine 2005 disc and his solution was a new DVD player.

Andy's correct mine was doing same with a copy disc but even with Andy's original disc still saying same. I took drive apart cleaned lense no better. So I've bought a second hand drive. Copy disc now works but not fully so going try Andy's disc tomorrow fingers crossed. Instead of driving me to my destination it's driving me mad

My disk is a copy I made myself and so far I've never had a moment's problem with it. I'm beginning to wonder whether the sat nav DVD players are taking some sort of militant industrial action ;)

Eric, you don't make it clear but I suspect that you've bought a retail DVD, in which case it should be perfect. If you re-try your original and it seems OK then the Navteq disk is undoubtedly faulty :(

Found this join in antenna, that don't look good maybe it's this causing it? But even with this it's not showing symbol on screen saying not sufficient satellites.

Erm... yes Phil. That wouldn't help.

It may not show up as insufficient satellites. It may be corrupted data.

Why on earth was that cable butchered like that?

Just tried satnav without antenna connected and it's acting the same as when antenna was connected so suggests to me antenna at fault.

Well,, not really Phil. I'd say the opposite. Without the aerial fitted you should have got a "no sat" fail.

I'm beginning to wonder what else was wrong with the kit you bought and how much the seller was aware :(

i have put original disc in and the same message comes up i have loaded the Navteq disc several times and the same message shows. i should note that i did have this message before i bought the Navteq disc i assumed that it was overdue an update so this makes me believe that the problem is not with the Navteq disc probably in the player drive.
