Hello all,

Just dropping a note to say hello. Bought my first Jaguar on Wednesday, 2nd hand, XF 3.0 D Portfolio S. Moved from an Audi A3 2.0 TFSI Quattro which I used to think was well built, that was until I had a test drive in the Jaguar. I cant believe how superior the Jaguar is :)

Welcome to the Club, John.

The XF is a very nice car and well built --  they build very good cars in Birmingham!

I hope you enjoy the Jaguar experience, and the club

Hi Andrew, and welcome to the Club.

I had an x type 2.5AWD on an 05 plate, and it was a pleasure to drive, described by one reviewer as "Nippy " which I don't think was the right word. I found mine quick and a great road holder .

I think you will enjoy it, as also I must add that there are quite a few members who have very good knowledge of the x type.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi all

First time jaguar bought last friday just a 2.0d x type 2006 but absolutely love it . Also first time forum user (never been on any forum of any description ) as was searching for answers to parking sensor issue as is the only issue with car

Hi James and welcome to the Club.

The x type is a very nice car and surprisingly economical with the diesel engine.

If a parking sensor is not working, switch on the ignition [not the engine, though] and put the car in reverse, and then listen to the sensors till you find the one that isn't working.  Then take it from there.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanx Peter

The jag is great definitely a bit different to a 98 golf gti and a lot more comfortable and economical. With regards to the parking sensors i found one faulty 1and got a replacement and painted (1 advantage of working in a bodyshop) all sensors are now pulsating but the light in headlining just flashing and no sound at all driving me mad oh and cant find speaker for them.

Having been put off by scare mongers regarding fuel economy lol I have purchased X Type 2.0d Sports and It is the best built car I have owned to date.

Welcome to the Club, Steve,

The x type is a very nice car, and the diesel is quite economical.

There is a JOC meet at Gaydon Heritage Museum on the 19th September which will be quite well attended.

Regards,
