Hi All,

New Jag owner here, the opportunity came up a couple of week's ago for cheap 2000 S-type 3.0 V6 and I have to say I'm sold.... and will at some point look to change for the R.

My sign up to the forums has really been prompted by a little niggle only developed in the last few days. Have noticed on cold start the engine sounds like a tractor... I will open a thread in the appropriate area of the site with a video.

Thanks folks

The club is for Jaguar Owners irrespective of the age of their cars.

I suggest you keep  such comments to yourself.

Thanks for the welcome guys :)

Honestly Zero's comment doesn't bother me, I've had other newer nice cars including a Lotus Elise, Honda S2000 GT, 530D but have always fancied a Jag. I spotted the S for sale a couple of towns away from my home, It had new 12 months MOT good tyres and no obvious problems so for £600 I'm VERY pleased!!!

Hi Mark,

The S type is a future classic car, and will join the E Type, and the Jaguar Mk2 in a few years time.  If people did not look after cars as they should, and just bought a new one every year or two, the E Type would not exist.

Regards,

Peter.

The E type and mk2 are beautiful car's, would be great if the S did.

Welcome.  I have only just found out how to open up the site - it's taken me long enough!!!

I am the very proud owner of an XJS (white, of course).  Location - Lincoln.

Hi Susan, and Welcome to the Club.

You will find the members here very helpful, and I hope you enjoy the club.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks.  The car is beautiful, but I'm finding difficulty posting a reply on this site, so you may get two messages reading much the same.

Sorry, I've tried and tried, but I can't get on with this site.  It's just full of adverts, and I can't find threads to get on to.  I'm also a member of the Probe Owners Club, and can communicate easily with people on there.  What am I doing wrong?

Morning all, I've recently bought my first Jag ( 55 plate x type 2.0d estate in dark met blue ) after years of dreaming of getting a mkII. She's a lovely car but got a few teething problems to sort out before I get the full Jag enjoyment :D

Hi Des, and welcome to the club.

I fell in love with the Mk2 in 1965 when my mate refurbished a Mk1.  My S type is a true heir.

You wil get plenty of assistance with any teething problems and I hope you enjoy the club.

Regards,

Peter.

Cheers Peter,

I'm changing the engine loom today due to a near fire last week when the alternater wire chafed and shorted on the engine manifold? I also need to replace the trip stalk and at some point the tailgate glass release button. These issues apart I'm loving my drive.
