dave avoid the supermarket stuff I have known folk getting trouble with that ie water in the fuel.  I used to subscribe to which mag, and they done a survey of fuels ect, shell came out top.  bp came bottom if I remember right think esso was second.  I have a bp garage quite close a shell 2miles away most of the time its a mix in my tank of bp &shell as usualy go to bp but when passing the shell garage I top up regards joe

Hi Dave,

I was advised to use the premium diesel and with a Shell Station 400n yards away  ---  it is also the cheapest in the area  -- I always use Shell v power, and get about 42 mpg on a mixture of long and short runs.

Thanks gents  for your experience, Ive used Shell V Power on and off in my Ford Kuga and the results are markedly better. Shell seems to be the cheapest around here as well. Ive never used supermarket fuels for some years now because of the lack of power and you don't know what else is in the mix. Very useful thanks again
