Hi Garry and welcome to the club.

I have also found that in the engine bay of my s type, [2.7D] and my previous x type 2.5AWD.

There is quite a big engine sitting in the engine bay and well insulated, so I don't think that there is a problem.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Mark,

When I lived in Yorkshire I had 9 Ford Escorts [Company Cars] with the 1.3 engine.  I found that it was one of the best ovens on the road.

Having to travel up to Scunthorpe regularly and down into the Nottingham area, I got fed up of taking sandwiches and looked for another solution.  So Chicken drumsticks & thighs, sausages, pork chops etc would be wrapped in foil and put into a Cadbury's Fingers Tin, and held in place on the exhaust manifold with a straightened out wire coat hanger They would be beautifully cooked in two hours.

I was thinking of writing recipes for cooking in the engine bay of cars.

Peter.
