Tried it with ignition on and engine running, the program I use free OBD Car doctor goes through its method of searching, With Test Protocol and it hangs on protocol 7.

What app is everyone else using ?

Thanks

Yes, download from app store about £2 or £3 for full program but worth it in my opinion.

Got it, still wont connect.. it connects to my reader but then I get error cannot find protocol...

Id really like to find out why the EML has come on... no loss of power or anything.

I've just been to try again to no avail... my phone is paired and my obd2 device works in my Citroën thought I'd try to make sure it's not faulty. . Jump in the jag plug it in try to connect I've used 4 different apps torque..obd doctor. .fash connect and another one obdfacile I think it's called.. they all connect to my device but can't connect to ecu. Have tried with engine running and just ignition on.

Eml has come on since I took car for a blast down motorway at 80 mph... parked up at supermarket and bing light comes on.

By the sound of it its not your program at fault if works on citron should work on jag, all I can sugest is conecting via mongoose with jag program at your local dealer or frendly garage with the right facility's, only problem is it can cost upto £80 a bit steep,if it is a programme fault with your ecm it should put it right,

I use OBD11 however not from a bluetooth phone. I have it installed on my Macbook and connect via a usb and the 16 pin plug to ECU socket, usually just diagnose check for faults and it lists such then gves opportunity to clear

Chris. Could be anything? But take your maf sensor out and give it a clean, it's a start

Found the MAF will remove later on.... easy fix if it is that! no way of telling without codes!

I presume it's petrol? If you look at your air filter box the thick air pipe will have a electrical connection on it that's your maf sensor its held in by two screws. You need electrical spray cleaner for best results leaves me residue. If you look at sensor at the side of it it has like a Bulb shape element if that's black it's dirty. But give it a clean anyway.
