Diesel estate temp gauge

Hi,

I have just bought a 2007 diesel estate in the last couple of days...The problem is the temp gauge reaches almost half way then slowly falls to about quarter way.

This happens on dual carriage or motor way driving around 60 to 70 mph... Is this normal

Hi Mark, and welcome to the club.

 

The temperature gauge on my s type 2.7 D slowly goes to halfway and then stays there, as it did on my X Type 2.5 petrol.

 

Are there any warning lights coming up?

 

It could be a faulty sensor, but it might be worth waiting for comments from a few x type diesel owners.
