I have 255/55/R16's on mine in the rear - gonna have to get new tyres cause they are almost down to the TWI's.

Just had a set of Pirelli Cinturato P7 245/40R18 (J) XL 97Y fitted to replace Michelin PIlot Sport 3. The (J) being for Jaguar fitment.

First impressions are good. I am taking it easy for the first couple of hundred miles. There is good road feel and the car feels nice and stable on the straight and round corners. Road noise is not noticeably different. I am touring in France next month so will update how the tyres perform once they are bedded in.

Sounds promising Simon, time will tell, enjoy your tour of France, I am off to the Netherlands again in the Cat for 6 days in the morning ;)

Hi Dave

Been off the board for a while. I chickened out just before going to France and bought a Merc E320 CDI. My back could not face 2500 miles around France in my Jag. I love driving the Jag but the seats just kill my back. The Jag then sat outside the house all winter and I finally took pity on it and took it for a long drive. The J fitment Pirelli P7 Cinturatos are excellent - great handling, good ride and quiet, least as quiet as it gets. Fuel economy is good too. Kwik-fit were giving 25% off so the set came to under £400. I have now given the S Type to my partner so I can still drive it when I feel the need!

If Simon,

Well I must admit with two Scotland trip and northern Holland 3 times I am more than happy with the Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres suggested by Peter, but at least there are some decent tyres out there to cut down on the road noise. By Lucky, Dave.
