illusive front end knock, UPDATE

Hi Guys, just thought I'd let you know, that illusive knock on the front nearside corner turned out to be a defective lower control arm, it's taken 4 mechanics at 2 different garages just over 4 days, however the guy that located it said it only showed up when the car was on level ground and not on the ramp, maybe something to consider when any other knocks arise. What do you all think?

That took some time, but as soon as I read your post I realised why the mobile  mechanic I have used for years always wants the car as level as possible.
