I haven't tried them, but I am interested. I know some of the other contributors have fault readers, and hopefully they'll share the benefit of their experience with us ;)

I paid around £7 for mine off eBay.

I use either dashboard or torque which both work well.

You can check fuel trims, boost and such like.

Worth getting a cheap one first.

Thanks guys for your responses.

A couple of questions Spring to mind, if you have this bit of kit running while your driving, does it record the live feed back, for reviewing at a later time? And does it read compression levels in each pot? I'm not sure exactly how advanced, technology has travelled, so I have to ask these questions in order to get up to speed with it all!!

I have just had the engine warning light on, but my OBD2 reader would only scan KWP2000.  I gave up, and guessed it was Code P0402 and with brick on the accelerator pedal to keep it between 1100 and 1500 rpm I sprayed Wynns EGR cleaner into the air intake.

Then a 10 mile drive to get the stuff working.  Light gone.

But I ask why the reader didn't throw up a code.

Peter.

Yes using my phone I can record the journey while my chosen data also records on the same screen but not seen any compression levels on my AP (Torque Pro).

Thanks chaps for your replies, and apologies for delayed response.

I am thinking about getting the bluetooth adapter above, but another question occured to me. My Android phone (Samsung S4) is paired with the Parrot system, if I install this product, will I have any issues choosing which to prioritise when I start the car? or do I simply remove it from the cars connector? or should I just pair it with the Android 'Tablet' (Samsung) I have for ease? I have the Torque app on both. I have probably answered my own question, but its just about making life easier

Thanks again

I also have Parrot & when I plug in my reader it just connects along with the Parrot I guess it has no conflict with parrot its just sending data & not trying to take calls. Just so you know these readers are rather basic so don't expect too much data but it is handy. To film your car jouney with a data overlay you will need to download an extra bit of Torque Android software but it's all very easy to do. Never had any issues using Android Kit-Kat Samsung Note 3.

Hope you enjoy it

Thanks Mark

That's put my mind at rest, I might just go and treat myself
