x type 2.0 diesel

Hi has anyone had the problem with the x type 2.0 diesel accelerating on without touching the pedal it seems to have a mind of its own its OK in idle but when driving when I take my foot of the pedal the car continues to pick up speed .

Welcome to the Club, Bob.

 

I have never had this problem in a modern car.

 

Is it a regular occurrence?

 

It is probably electrical, but others who have had this problem will be ablate advise.
