Hi

I recently changed the car battery, and although the central locking still locks using the key fob, the car will NOT unlock using the key fob, therefore I have to use the key in the drivers door to unlock.

Any ideas please ?

Hi Jason, and welcome to the club.

I think it is possible that you might have to reprogram the key fob  --  auto locksmith!

But there are those with electrical expertise who might have a short cut, and will advise

Hi Jason,

I have a mobile auto locksmith  close to me.  I am sure that if you just Google "Auto Locksmith in Lincolnshire" one will pop up.

key fobs and how to fix them is rather a new phenomenon that has arisen in the last ten years as keys have got more an more complicated to ensure better safety.

Lets know how you get on, because that information will be good to keep on record for those living in your area.

Regards,

Peter.

Try this first

1 Open drivers door

2 Turn ignition switch to position 1 then 2 four times. You will hear a chime.

3 Turn the ignition off and remove the key

4 Press a key on the key fob within ten seconds (unlock is a good one) You should hear a chime.

5 If you want any other key fobs programmed just press a button and listen for the chime. Max of four can be programmed.

6 Close the door.

7 Check to see if it has worked.

Good look

If that doesn't work give bertieboy9 a pm. He has locks a plenty at very reasonable prices.
