So. Had the fluid changed, and as we all thought no change, so did all the normal tests one can do, foot on brake pedal, started engine, felt pedal  depress appeared ok, however moved on to next test, engine running, foot hard on brake pedal, turned engine off , felt substantial rise on pedal suggesting loss of vacuum pointing at either Servo or Vacuum pump, so going to try claim on warranty initially with dealer then with RAC WARRANTY. How do you rate my chances Guys.....  1 being no freaking chance and 5 being yippee I got a free servo

Some warranty documents I've seen specifically exclude brake servos. I guess you'd need to check your warranty document in detail.

What is the RAC warranty you have?

I have AA cover with the breakdown add-on and that wouldn't have covered the cost as they only allow OEM parts and the servo from Jaguar was more than the £500 limit even before labour charges.

Hi Paul, didn't want to reply before I had further info, talked to the dealer this evening and he has assured me that the fault whatever it turns out to be will be repaired under the warranty supplied by him so hopefully won't have to use RAC warranty, the limit for works on the RAC paperwork being £1000, so should manage to get it done either way. Fingers crossed. Regards Ian

Booked the car in today for whatever repairs it needs to facilitate braking, dealer true to his word didn't argue just assured me the lack of vacuum pressure would be addressed, so thought to myself that I would treat the old girl to a set of new discs, just awaiting quote, will keep you informed.
