Can anybody suggest the most convenient way to access a permanently live 12 volt supply in the engine bay capable of 20 Amps please?

I was considering going into the back of the fusebox but not sure how to remove it?

Hi

I'd come from the engine bay fuse box also

there clips all round the fuse box, the larger ones release the fuse box off its bracket

the smaller ones allow you take the top off the fuse box to expose all the wiring

just slide a flat blade screwdriver in the clip while using pull tension on the fuse box and once there all unclipped the lid will come off

there should be some spare permanent fused way in there for other options, just test them

cheers

I HATE the way everything is put together with plastic clips these days. What on earth is wrong with screws or nuts and bolts.

As you might have guessed Joe, I'm getting absolutely nowhere with trying to open the fusebox. I'm so ham-fisted that I'm bound to break the clips and even when I think I've successfully released them all the box won't move and they all suddenly click back to their locked positions again.

Hi

Yes its a bit of a fiddle

was in my fuse box a couple of months ago when i fitted drl lights

think i undid the big clips first as raised the fuse box out of it mounting bracket

then i did each clip around the sides, but like you say if you slip it just clips back together

if you have some tyraps try sliding them in the clip and leave one in each clip, might make it easier

cheers
