Welcome to the club, John.

There is nothing wrong with any of the models you have listed,

I have a S type 2,7 SE with lots of optional extras fitted.  The twin turbo diesel is much quicker  and quieter than most people  think,

Those who drive the petrol versions of the s type will give you some feed back on their experience.

Regards,

Peter.

I have an S- Type 3.0 200 sport petrol and it is the best car ive ever owned as well as sporty looking.

Mine is a 2003 model in black with 19" zito alloys and low profile tyres. It has all the inbuilt sat nav climate control etc etc

It's unmistakenly a Jaguar but meaner looking lol

Good luck with your search

Hi I had the 2000 X plate 3.0 ltr petrol which was a LOVERLY car to drive, however it did suffer with electric gremlins, door locks especially,I now have a 2.7 diesel 2004 for the past 3 years, going to get a 2007 model next, love them.

Welcome to the club, Bryan.

I knew a guy who always bought late model cars, sometime new just after a new model came out --  good price and the gremlins all gone.

The criteria I used when getting my S type was as late a model that was available, a 2.7 diesel with a low mileage, touch screen with bluetooth and satnav. I found one within two weeks of intense search, Indigo blue with Dove grey leather and charcoal and grey trim.

Great cars,

Regards,

Peter,
