hi, I am new to this forum and hoping to find some help.

my 55 plate S type 2.7 diesel has a heater problem, it only blows cold air. there are no air locks and the cooling system works correctly. any help/advice would be appreciated, I am reasonably competent at servicing and repairing most issues

It's more than likely the heater valve that's seized.

Do a Google search for it and it'll be explained.

Not a hard job but fiddly and expensive.

thanks guys, I was thinking along these lines, I have seen video on youtube, but cant seem to locate the dccv on my car, I wil have another look today. I read on another post somewhere that if I disconnect the electrical connection to the dccv, it will stay open, hence constant hot air, be better than cold air at this time of year, until I get it sorted

Hi chaps, new to this forum and I am having the same issue, heater blowing cold, have located the heater control valve but it doesn’t look anything like the pictures when you go to order one ? Mine only has two ports and the plug only has two wires to it, I have took it of and put a bypass piece in but still not getting any heat, any clues, really scratching my head now. Thanks Martin.

Stacker martin your looking at the wrong item, sounds like aux pump your looking at

find the dccv, they all have a 3 pin connector and the valve will either be a 3 port or 5 port

also it could ve a combination of dccv, climate module and wiring thats causing it

hi

if you look in the engine bay, down the drivers side of the inner wing there are 3 aluminium pipes, rigid ones, if you follow them, they go directly to the heater valve

its a lot lower on the diesel.

on the diesel im sure its more in the wheel arch area behind the plastic cover, below the fuse box

A little bit of information that may or may not be helpful, without any power on the DCCV, they will both be open. If the heater controls have been set to cold all over the summer then it might simply be that the valves have stuck in the closed position so setting temperature to hot and getting the engine hot then finding the valves (being careful not to hit anything else) give them a gentle tap with a hammer may shock them free.

If that works, cycling them hot/cold a few times during normal driving will help them remain free to move as they should.

Is that the one where you have to cycle the temperature from cold to hot and back again several times Peter to enable the HVAC controls to "learn" the temperatures again?

Fairly sure mine is too early for that system and wasn't sure when it came in.

Has anyone sorted this heater blowing cold issue had mine a few months weather turning now so this was one of s few issues I have the 2.7 diesel  s type and if ya did was it home diy job I do my own servicing or a garage job thanks in advance of any info
