Hi Joe,

I am unsure about Castle Bromwich.  I have been round quite a few car factories  ---  Longbridge, when it was "The Austin" and Longbridge at the start of automation  ---  Toyota factory near Derby - Boring ----  Nissan, Sunderland -- taking to the workforce was interesting.  The old fashioned factories wee the most interesting to me.

I didn't think that the robots operating were that interesting.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Joe,

I saw the Metro engine being built by a computer - interesting.  The Jaguar engine plant in Wolverhampton would be a good visit, but I don't think they have visits yet.

I enjoyed the classic car when I went a few years ago.

Peter.

Hi Joe

I did the Castle Bromwich tour last summer and I would whole heartedly recommend it. My last visit to a car factory was Ford's Dagenham plant in the mid 60s so I was not prepared for the quiet, clean , air conditioned ,well lit and efficient environment. The press room was noisy i'll admit . If you've an ounce of geek about you the technology is breathtaking and as we wandered around the site we caught an occasional glimpse of heritage Jaguars such as mk2s etc. bonus.
