Welcome to the club, Shannon.

The XF Owners in the club will share their knowledge.  Does  the touchscreen work in other respects?

The XF is different from the S Type in respect of the touchscreen,  and on the s type, and other models of a similar age, lets you put in the setting and then operated from the controls of the dashboard.

Regards,

Peter.

Recently purchased a 2009 xf supercharged and out of nowhere,  the climate control selection on the touch screen wasn't an option.  Can someone please help me

Hi Shannon Its not quite clear? What part of the climate control is not working? Pressing the fan button center turns it on or off? Plus bottom right on the touch screen has an on /off option.

Pressing the fan button turn it on and the screen is on. External temp not showing, it won't let me select climate on the touchscreen

Hi

Dont know too much about the XF

but on the s-type if you get a fault sometimes you can clear it by disconnecting the battery for a bit

It will usually reset most things

but make sure you have any codes required for stereo and such

cheers

Joe

Ok so saying you can adjust the cabin temperature using the hot and cool switches and I take it you can select the auto function switch? Its just the ice type symbol on the touch screen that controls the air con that doesn't respond. There are 2 sensors 1 behind each front  lower air duct . I think? the left hand does the outside ambient temperature which you say is not showing and the right hand sensor (i'm not quite sure) is for the auto quick deice function. These sensors do corrode due to there exposed position and just un-clip to change. The only other thing I can think off is air con has discharged all its gas and preventing you from using it.
