New to the forum......had many jags in the past but just purchased my first s type 2.7 diesel sport on an 04 plate. Will post pics as soon as I can. I'm sure with new car will come many questions and niggles , as usual , and I look forward to joining in on many topics.

would also be interested in any get togethers around Yorkshire with other cat lovers as it's the best way to learn, get advice and a few ideas. I'm based near Barnsley .

Looking forward to the group and I hope to be of help along the way so please feel free to say hi if your able to or ideally if your local......steve.

Hi Steve and welcome to the club.

There are a lot of members in Yorkshire, and any member wishing to organise a meet would be doing a great service.

The S Type is  great car and the 2.7 diesel is a very good engine  ---  mine is great to drive.

Hope you enjoy the club as well as your Jaguar.

Regards,

Peter,

Thanks Peter, nice to be here. Must admit I'm loving the car...it's different from the older jags I loved passionately over the years. Your right the s type diesel is a peach and it's taken me 6 months to find the exact one I wanted so I'm passionate about it....never spent that long searching for a car...ever.

guessing the group are good with any advice I may have about the cat...I'm sure I will need it along the way. I appreciate the welcome and hope to be a constructive member for some time to come.

take care and I'm sure we will chat again.

Hi Steve,

I wouldn't worry about the DPF regeneration if you do a good 40 minute run once a month at a good speed.

But DO check you Oil, as what Jim says is correct, but note that the dipstick on the S Type 2.7D is of curious design and can sometimes give you a false reading if the second dip is used and the car is not level.

I only do about 6500 miles a year with mostly short runs and I have never had a DPF problem.

Regards,

Peter.

Hi Steve and welcome to THE JAGUAR OWNERS CLUB. Its a great forum and we have many members ready and willing to offer good and constructive advice. I'm sure with the weather turning in the next month or two there will be many meets cropping up to share experiences with like minded fellow members.

Apologies for late reply to all. As I've told paul I have recently lost the wife so sometimes neglect to message back.

am mightily impressed with the forum and with members....I'm so please to be part of the forum and am looking forward to getting to some of the meets this year for a good natter about all things cat. Ideally wanting a meet in Yorkshire initially but..hey what the hell ...if there's a big meet would probably be interested in attending .

looking forward to joining in and being of help....and appreciate the warm welcome. Paul raistlin has also been a great help and is a top bloke. If I can be of help in any way please just message.

again...thanks

p.s will post pics as soon as I get chance ..

Hi Steve,

Glad you like the Forums.  Paul is a wizard with electrics and is always ready to help.

I do know that there are a lot of members in Yorkshire and all it needs is for someone to think of a good venue and organise the meet.  I would come up to Yorkshire for a meet as I worked in Yorkshire for 12 years in the Steel Industry.

Haydn [Glyn] is hoping to get a meet going at  Mallory Park at the end of May.

Meanwhile, enjoy your Jaguar.

Regards,

Peter.
