I was handed this badge today by a work colleague. The story is that his aunty used to work at the Cecilly Mill factory in Cheadle, Staffordshire and he was given it as a momento when he was a younger lad. He kept it for 43 years before passing it on.

Apparently, he goes on to tell me, that this factory used to produce the official football shirt crests that were to be sown on the jerseys of some of the Midlands clubs so it all seems to fit that this may be a piece of history, albeit a minor piece.

Are there any club historians that could possibly shed any further light on this badge?

Hi Kevin,

I would like to see that badge as the logo for the JOC.

It looks very like a blazer badge.

Regards,

Peter.

Cheers guys,

yes Pete I think it was originally made for a garment of some kind, I was thinking more racing overalls seeing as its got a chequered flag type background. Also the 'X' is intriguing at the bottom, is it a 10 year anniversary badge of some kind or is it just part of the chevron pattern.
