OK,

This is beginning to annoy me now

Not my car but, EPB reports a permanent fault. However, it performs faultlessly. Changed the EPB module, EPB switch. The servo is working fine, tried battery reset.

Still getting the annoying caption.

Does anybody have any ideas please?

Hi

It might be a intermittant fault, which when clears, the fault code also does

I'd of thought if there going to be a fault, its going to be on the EPB motor unit

unless its a bad connection, but basically its a motor thats going be driven to a certain torque and position

its going to be either the encoder positioner or internal connections/soldered joints inside

when you think how many operations this gets, the motor inside going to get lots motor brush dust

unfortunately its the most expensive part

The fault display is permanently there Joe but I've come to the same sort of conclusion as you.

We have a spare actuator assembly so will swap it out.

Well... after a long and winding road (the subject of another story), we got the motor and cables out. Nothing wrong with the motor but one of the cables had chafed through to the core and was therefore almost to stiff to operate.
