Hi David,

When I stop my s type diesel, I know that the turbos are still spinning, and so I wait for  a minutes before turning off the engine. The wait also lets the engine know that it is now resting and excess fuel is no longer needed.

Regards,

Peter.

Good post David,

I always let my car settle for a minute before turning ignition off even though it doesn't have a turbo and always let the revs drop before moving off when first started.

Hi

I allways let the car idle for a few seconds, just to let the engine and transmission ecu settle and then turn it off

its bad to rev a car then turn it off, because if there turbo's and they can spin for many seconds without lubrication

if the fans are running I allways wait till they stop, then turn the engine off, as thats when the engine is the coolest

cheers

Joe

Another tick in the box for allowing the engine to idle for a short time before switching off.

The thought of two turbos spinning without forced Oil pressure is frightening.
