When in cruise control at say, an indicated speed of 60 mph, the engine speed is, as you'd expect, constant. If I then press the button for "Sport" mode, the indicated engine speed increases by a few hundred RPM although the car's speed doesn't change.

I'm puzzled as to why. Any ideas please?

Ah, it might be that Steve.

I need to switch the premium sound off and have a better listen to the engine. Not that I can hear it much in this car anyway.

She may be getting ready to show you what the sport button is for!

Hi Paul

Surely if you are in cruise control and you select sports mode it will drop a gear and expect you to take

control of the throttle  out of cruise control .

Hi Paul I think you will find that sport mode will not allow 6th gear to engage.

What's right no 6th gear with sport mode.

With cruise on and switching sport on yes car will drop and gear and still stay at 60 mph.
