Hi all,

Ever since I was a child peering through car windows to see what speed they could do I have wanted a Jag. That childhood seemed forever ago and now 54 in August. Finally having raided the back of the sofa for pennies and a few old sweets I managed to come across a thousand pounds. Foolishly or not, and only the coming months will tell, I bought my Jag today and fulfilled that  boyhood dream.

I took a 1999 S Type 3.0L V6 for a test drive and fell in love. A man and a car kind of love. I pick it up on Saturday after it has been valeted and I have sorted insurance and tax. I have now just done that. Took out breakdown cover too as a precaution.

Hopefully any future posts will all be positive and not posts from various roads I have broken down on!

Any advice for future Jaguar pleasure will be happily received.

Welcome to the club, John.

The S type is a great car, and you will enjoy the Jaguar experience.

Hope your posts are positive and the roads of Lincolnshire see you driving along them quite gracefully!

Regards,

Peter.

Hi there Bartontiger, may I join Old Peter in welcoming your good self to this wonderful Jaguar Owners forum, I hope you find it as interesting and as informative as I do. Hey, as you live down the road from me in Barton, our paths may cross from time to time

Anyway, very Best Wishes, looking forward to seeing any photo's you might post,

Morning Malcom, thank you for that. I am hoping to post a few pics when I get the car cleaned and gleaming. We live on a new build site at the moment so the car is usually covered in sand/mud/builders debris. Might have to buy a car condom for it lol

Hi there again Bartontiger, please excuse my late reply, been on and off here so much, but not looked properly :wallbash: as I should have!!! Nice one on your new build :yahoo: and of course your Jag, I wonder, is she now all cleaned and gleaming??

I'll be passing Barton on my way to Hatfields Jaguar across the water from you, on Saturday 16th July, around 07:40  ..... the Big Black Cat is in for a major service

Best Wishes,

Malc ( Phosphor Blue ) :wink1:

Cheers Andy and Malc,

I am Hull born and bred but live in Barton now after moving for work reasons.

I emailed Hatfield Jaguar last week Malc regarding a few issues with my S Type but never received a reply which I found disappointing. Unfortunately not got the car gleaming yet. Just waiting for a few dry days and time off work. At 20 mpg was only going to use it at weekends but love it that much I am commuting in it! Expensive drive to work

Hi John,

There is a very well respected independent Jaguar Specialist in Doncaster  ---  Doncaster Jaguar, I think, they are called.  It might be worth a visit.

Regards,

Peter.

Thanks Peter. I was just after a bit of advice and a spare part enquiry. Even a simple 'get lost' reply wouldn't have hurt.

Hi again John, so sorry to read you didn't get a reply from Hatfields Jaguar, as you say, even a brief reply would have been something, i'll ''try'' and follow this up for you when I am there on the 16 / 07 / 2016  .........

Yes, at 20mpg, its a bit of a costly drive, but, what a beautiful and serene way to get to work, so I guess somewhere there just ''has'' to be a slightly down side

Best Wishes again,

Malc :w00t::yes:
