I have a 2004 2.7 diesel with 171.000 on the clock. Recently I suffered lack of power on pulling away and on kick down. I put the car into my local Jaguar garage and they said it was an EGR valve fault and possibly a turbo fault. They have changed the EGR valve along with a pipe and clip and a side light Bulb at a cost of £ 1054.00. The fault is still there and they say a turbo needs to be renewed at a cost of £2900.00. To say the least I was gob smacked at the cost. My question is, how hard is it to change the turbo if I bought a second hand turbo and did the work myself. Or can someone point me in the right direction for a cheaper quote.
