New problems, the front passenger door will not unlock using the key fob or if any other door is unlocked using the key-less method or via the unlock button on the dash, all other doors will unlock. It will unlock if you have the fob and open the door from the outside.  Once open and then shut, will auto lock.  However if you then stop to pick up a passenger you have to lean over to pull the handle as it will not unlock from the dash button.

The drivers door on the other hand will unlock etc apart from you cannot touch the lock sensor on the door handle to lock.  So you have to use another door or key fob.

Any advice or recommendations?

Hopefully your problems will have been resolved by now Balbir  but in case you're still struggling I had similar issues on my drivers door. A  used lock from eBay for £25 did the biz and all's well now :xmas: for the minute.

Afraid not Oldjaman, been given a list of 4 bits by Jaguar which will cost approx 750£ which is inclusive of 3 hours labour. Very expensive indeed, so will keep a look out on  ebay etc.

was it easy to fit.

Yes very easy. don't have to take the window out or anything like that. Just noticed the date on your post and hope it has all been sorted by now.

Thanks for your info Peter, just been putting the job off, but will look for a lock and replace to see if that works.

Hi all, finally got around to sorting the issue out, however another door Rear offside had started to play up by not locking and so drained the battery as i had not noticed.  anyway, my son in law had a look, got the error codes and had them looked at. advice was to change the lock module at £110 +Vat each.  All door locks are now working as they should.
