I have owned my 2004 Jaguar X-type for almost 8 years and it's been an AWESOME vehicle!

It has a very loud noise in the front end when accelerating, two repair shops say the Transfer case needs to be replaced. The cost of this repair is around $4400, which is more than the value of the vehicle (according the KBB).

Any suggestions on how to recover from this issue (it only has 63k miles and is in very good condition) and get the most money in return? (IE....savage, sell parts, get a Transfer case part for cheap, etc...)

Thanks in advance,

Terry
