Hi All

Just got a full size spare alloy  wheel, to replace the daft space saver

but now the tool kit foam won't fit inside the wheel

Anybody on here got a full size spare, If so I'm after the part number of the tool kit foam, its right at the top in one corner,

or if any body knows the part number that would be even better

thanks

Joe

Joe,

Denis has just checked his and the part number is:- 1R8A-17BC43-AC.

He has a couple of them so you can have a look if you like when you come over for the sat nav loom.

Hi Joe,

Doesn't your STR have different width front and rear alloys? Just wondering which width wheel you bought as a full size spare.

Hi Brian

yes its got the staggered zeus wheels, 275 35 18 rear and 245 40 18 front

I got one of the fronts with 245 40 18 matching the tyres on the car

it will fit both front or back and will still look descent and good traction

compared to razor blade they call a space saver, there no way you could do any distance on that

the front zeus fits in the boot well perfect as well

The rear wheel I think wont fit the front as its way too wide and it definately would not fit in the boot

cheers

That's a really neat solution Joe. I have to admit I'm no great lover of the standard issue red alloy "razor blade" either.

I pensioned off the 17" steel space saver spare in my 3.0 SE and replaced it with a very readily available full size Juno. In fact it was one of a set of five Junos fitted with Pirelli P Zero Asimetricos (7mm tread on each) from eBay for £175. It was like all my Christmases had come at once.

Hope you get your tool kit/jack stowage sorted. I've included this snapshot from JEPC which might be of use.

I was looking for that last night Brian. It took me ages and I didn't find it.

I hadn't made the synaptic link between a piece of interior trim and suspension

I know that feeling. JEPC can be a "canny beastie" with its rather generic and often misleading sections

Hi Joe,

Looks like someone has already come up with the info you need.

Sorry about the delay, work was hectic today so did not get chance to speak to anyone in the parts department.

Hey Joe,

The foam insert from my space saver seems to fit inside my now full size 18" Vulcan alloy, just my good luck I guess!

Cheers, Russ
