The Dreaded Restricted Performance

I've read a few posts on this subject. Long story cut short, took delivery on September 17th, received Restricted Performance message 2 weeks later, under warranty, dropped it in to my mates garage to run diagnostics. Diagnosed & fixed a seized valve. Was either Induction Turbo Boost Valve or Boost Pressure Actuator Shut Off Valve. I can find prices for Actuator valve around £90. Can't find a price for the other valve anywhere?

Has the valve been identified correctly?

Can the valve be replaced or is it part of another unit?

Can anyone assist with identifying what it's commonly known as, so I can price a replacement please?

As always, any assistance appreciated.

Surely you some form of Warranty on the car, take it back to the dealer to put right

I do have a warranty, however I live in Cheshire, & I bought the car from a garage in York. Hence why my mate was looking to diagnose it. I can't be travelling back to York & leaving it there whilst it's sorted? The warranty will cover the repair, I'm attempting to diagnose what the issue may be.

Ive just had exactly the same, a week after I got it, restricted performance warning, took it in and was diagnosed as erg valve not operating, one of the symptoms was reduced mpg. They changed the valve...now good as gold. Might be worth a re check?

Nope, not the egr valves, diagnostics errors say air mass & turbo. Still looking. This could take some time, as I need to use the car in the week. Can only get a look at it at the week end.

Bought my 09 plate XF S 4 weeks ago, private sale 96k miles.  125 miles later, got the Restricted Performance in red.  Jaguar dealer advised not to drive, so got it RAC recovered to them.  They diagnosed EGR valve £433(incl vat) for replacement CSOV valve assembly, £190 (incl vat) for diagnosis, strip and replace.

Got it back last week, done 340 miles, all seems ok now and ave 36mpg

They gave me the replaced assembly, it appears that a previous owner had replaced the actuator, looks like it could have been stripped down further without total replacement being necessary.  Maybe it still has some value in it!
